Forgotten the very reason why you enjoy some of your freedoms today?

Freedom is never free, never will be. We have to fight for it daily. There is a price to be paid to earn your economic freedom too, you don’t have to die like the heroes below did, but you have to be willing to give everything you got.

Gone but not forgotten

In the Dining Hall Of NDA Khadakwasla

Gone but not forgotten.
Real life Heroes, truly worthy of being role models for the Nation’s youth, ordinary men who gave their all in that one blazing, defining moment, men who expected nothing in return for themselves but to be remembered with Honor…. unlike the worthless, self seeking specimens who lobby to get themselves nominated for top civilian honors who are forgotten for good.

Gone but not forgotten

In Dining Hall Of NDA Khadakwasla , at the entrance of the hall there is a table set for one,
with the chair tilted forward. This table is set for the Prisoners of War who are forgotten, but
holding on to the hope that they will return one day.

The Placard on the table has following written on it

The table set is small, for one, symbolizing the frailty of one prisoner against his  oppressors.

The single rose displayed in a vase reminds us of the families and loved ones of our comrades-
in-arms who keep their faith awaiting their return.

The Red Ribbon tied so prominently on the vase is reminiscent of the red ribbon worn upon the
lapel and breasts of thousands who bear witness to their unyielding determination to demand a
proper accounting of our missing.

The candle is unlit, symbolizing the upward reach of their unconquerable spirit.

The slice of Lemon is on the bread plate, to remind us of the bitter fate.

There is salt upon the bread plate – symbolic of the families’ tears as they wait.

The Glass is inverted, they cannot toast with us this night.

The chair –  it is empty. They are not here.

Remember ! All of you who served with them and called them comrades, who
depended upon their might and aid, and relied upon them, for surely, they have not
forsaken you.

Remember until the day they come home……

and..
for a change I am forwarding you this poem I received few days ago.. its called “Do it Anyway” …(~From a sign in Mother Teresa’s children’s home of Shushu Bhavan, Calcutta, India)

Do It Anyway

People are unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered.

LOVE THEM ANYWAY.

If you do good, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.

DO GOOD ANYWAY.

If you are successful, you win false and true enemies.

SUCCEED ANYWAY.

The good you do will be forgotten tomorrow.

DO GOOD ANYWAY.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.

BE HONEST AND FRANK ANYWAY.

What you spent years building may be destroyed overnight.

BUILD ANYWAY.

People really need help but may attack you if you help them.

HELP PEOPLE ANYWAY.

Give the world the best you have and you’ll get kicked in the teeth.

GIVE THE WORLD THE BEST YOU’VE GOT ANYWAY.

IT’s THE ONLY WORLD YOU GOT ANYWAY!

If you have to wake up early morning on Monday to Friday and go to a job because you need that paycheck to cover your bills, you are nowhere near economic freedom.

Now is the time to fight for your economic freedom. And we will fight with you and for you as long as you don’t give up on you.

You have to ask yourself : At the end of your life, do you want to be remembered for what you stood for, or simply be forgotten ?
