Glenn & Sherley’s Success Story :

Glenn    and    Sherley    Dowling    were    raised    in    the    Brooklyn    New    York    only    minutes
from    each    other.    Glenn’s    family    is    originally    from    Trinidad    and    Sherley    was    born
in    Port-au-Prince    Haiti.    The    two    didn’t    meet    until    college.    While    Glenn    was
attending    Long    Island    University    and    building    the    Amway    business    his    best
friend    suggested    he    show    the    Plan    to    a    girl    in    his    accounting    class    at
Pace University.    That    girl    was    Sherley. The    rest,    as    they    say    is    history.
Glenn    and    Sherley    worked    together    building    their business    throughout    their

 How to own a profitable business?

You may be a building your business for a while or would have just started. The whole
purpose of doing business is to earn profits, to run a successful profitable business. By doing
some simple things you can have a huge profitable business. These don’t even require
any skill; it’s just a matter of a decision. We will talk about volume and profitability, after all that is all a
business is all about, even in a traditional business.

To start your business you need to identify your dreams and goals. You need to have clear goals as they are the reasons why you are building your business. Write them down and share them with your coach/mentor. This will
allow you to achieve them quicker. Your coach/mentor will help you map out your road map to
your dreams and goals.

4 THINGS THAT MAKES ANY BUSINESS SUCCESSFUL

• Have to get trained in all aspects of the business (Many good doctors fail to have
  a profitable practice, they are trained to be good doctors but not a businessmen)
• Have to have council and advisor. (That’s why every company has Board of
  Directors.)
• Get and keep customers and IBOs/distributors.
• If you don’t have customers, you don’t have a business.

Bonuses are paid on points you earn when you or someone in your network buys a product.

So, the more points you make, more the bonus you earn, more the income, the closer you
get to your goals.

CHANGE IN MENTALITY

As a buisness owner you need to change your consumer mentality into a business owner mentality.

Consumer:   How much discount will I get?
Business owner: What’s my profit margin?

Consumer: How much can I save?
Business owner: How much can I make?

Consumer: What is the price?
Business owner: What is my investment?

Many people think and will fail in business because they think that in order for them to succeed and compete in the marketplace their product prices have got to be the cheapest.

WRONG !   With that attitude you will never have a profitable business.

There is a large market for BMWs, Mercedes, and all the high end products. Just because they are
premium priced the company does not go bankrupt. They attract customers who love quality, service and value.

You can get a gallon of milk cheaper anywhere than at a 7 eleven,  but people still buy milk from 7 eleven. Because of its convenience. The market is driven by convenience. Internet is predominantly driven by convenience, that’s why people shop on
the internet. People shop where they get great service, quality and convenience. Our business gives all
that, which is why our business model delivers value.

As a business owner you must shop from your own business..

“If you want to fail in business, shop from a competitor”

If you are advertising and promoting a particular product and the client sees you buying
the same product (you were trying to sell) in a mall or shop, needless to say you
lost the customer for good. For example: If you had a Shell gas station, and you got gas for your car from an Exxon,..
Your customers will think – either you’re an idiot or Shell gas is inferior.

By using your products you will not only gain credibility but also acquire product knowledge. Having
product knowledge will in turn also increase credibility when you are promoting the
product hence increasing your profit. If you are on a short on your budget, learn how to
shop in exclusives. I won’t go in detail, but if you are new ask your upline for their help.

CONSEQUENCES OF NOT THINKING LIKE A BUSINESS OWNER

I will take an example of Jack n Jill, new IBOs. Jack has started showing the plan and
registering new IBOs in their group. Jill is also placing her orders, and changing her
buying habits slowly. Jill is looking for a DVD player on her shopping portal and even looking in
our partner stores. In her search for a “GOOD DEAL” she starts looking on websites out side
of our network. She finds a deal on X.com where she saves $10. She buys and saves $10.
Assuming the brand the quality is the same for the DVD that is available on our portal. But
she looses the 40 PV that she would have got. Buys the DVD, thinking like a consumer to
save her $10. Now lets look at the impact of this.

As she gave her business else where, they are at 60PV as compared to 100PV if she
would have bought from her own business. At 60 PV they get no bonus as compare to the $6 that
they would have got at 100PV. But she saved $10 and so net gain is $4.

If they were at 260 PV they got a bonus of $15.60 as compare to the $36 that they would have got at 300PV. But she saved $10 and so now the net loss is $10.40.

If they were at 560 PV they got a bonus of $67.20 as compare to the $108 that they would
have got at 600PV. But she saved $10 and so net loss is $30.80.

If they were at 960 PV they got a bonus of $172.80 as compare to the $240 that they
would have got at 1000PV. But she saved $10 and so net loss is $57.20.

At 2460 PV, business had a net loss is $152.
At 3960 PV, business had a net loss is $244.44.
At 7460 PV, business had a net loss is $308.

You may have multiple Jill’s in your team and the multiplication effect would have a
much larger effect. If you have 100 people in your team and they all think as customers, 100 x 40 will mean that you had a loss of 4000PV. If you are at 4000 PV the extra 4000PV will bring you in Platinum qualification.

The business is about duplication. You acting like Jill will result in having multiples Jill’s
in your team and loss for your business..

Success in Business Hinges on doing the Basics.

Buying from YOUR OWN BUSINESS is the first basic change you must make to have a very large profitable business.

Forgotten the very reason why you enjoy some of your freedoms today?

In Dining Hall Of NDA Khadakwasla , at the entrance of the hall there is a table set for one,
with the chair tilted forward. This table is set for the Prisoners of War who are forgotten, but
holding on to the hope that they will return one day.

The Placard on the table has following written on it

The table set is small, for one, symbolizing the frailty of one prisoner against his  oppressors.

The single rose displayed in a vase reminds us of the families and loved ones of our comrades-
in-arms who keep their faith awaiting their return.

The Red Ribbon tied so prominently on the vase is reminiscent of the red ribbon worn upon the
lapel and breasts of thousands who bear witness to their unyielding determination to demand a
proper accounting of our missing.

The candle is unlit, symbolizing the upward reach of their unconquerable spirit.

The slice of Lemon is on the bread plate, to remind us of the bitter fate.

There is salt upon the bread plate – symbolic of the families’ tears as they wait.

The Glass is inverted, they cannot toast with us this night.

The chair –  it is empty. They are not here.

Remember ! All of you who served with them and called them comrades, who
depended upon their might and aid, and relied upon them, for surely, they have not
forsaken you.

Get Your Gold

Most people start a business and feel exactly like Will..

Will said - “I definitely want to be successful, but I just don’t seem to be getting anywhere.”

Will’s mentor Dan was thoughtful for a moment before he responded – “I’d like to share with you one of the main reasons, and maybe the most important one, why only 5% of people attain success and why the rest fail to reach their potential.”

Will added – “You might earn your way to a million dollars, yet in reality, you still may not have achieved success.”

Will looked at him, somewhat bewildered.  He remembered the famous – ‘Success is a journey, and not a destination‘.

Dan stated with great conviction – “Success is a way of life that you will continue as long as you live. Its about discovering your ultimate purpose and pursuing it with everything you have and everything you do.  The lesson I’m talking about and want to share with you today is about never giving up, about having the courage not to quit, even when you feel you have no other choice.”

Will found himself physically pushing his body back into the chair in reaction to such a powerful statement. He remembered his frustrations and his thoughts about giving up. I am here for a reason, and I must pay attention, he prodded himself.

The most common cause of failure is Quitting.

Here’s a story of Darby who learned a very costly lesson:

Darby’s uncle had been struck by gold fever.

He’d traveled west to get rich in the mining business. This would-be prospector had many more hopes than solutions with a proper plan. He had not invested the time to learn how to do what he wanted to accomplish. He just wanted to find gold. Neither did he study mining nor learn from others about the proper way to mine or even the travails of mining. He simply staked a claim and went to work with his pick and shovel.

Fortunately, after weeks of manual labor, Darby’s uncle was rewarded with the discovery of gold, and lots of it! While it was a good problem to have, he quickly realized that he really wasn’t prepared. He needed machinery to remove the enormous amount of heavy rocks and dirt that covered the shining ore.

Knowing that the machinery would cost money that he didn’t have, he carefully covered up the mine and traveled back to his home in Maryland. He boasted of the tremendous wealth of gold that lay in the ground just waiting for his return. It didn’t take long to persuade his family and friends to invest toward the needed machinery.  Sure enough, when the first gold was retrieved it was high quality ore and promised to be one of the richest gold discoveries in Colorado. He was convinced that they all were about to make a huge fortune.

Then.. Tragedy struck… the gold simply disappeared. Will set his pen down, mentally kicking himself.  If he had actually invested some time to read the first chapter of the book, he would have already gotten it…  They just wanted gold, they were after money. They had never studied the art of gold mining and had no true passion for the business of mining.., so they didn’t know what to do next except to keep digging.  With their impatience and lack of knowledge, it wasn’t long before they became totally frustrated and disillusioned. They kept digging but found no more ore. Their dissatisfaction got the best of them and they decided to quit.

Story gets real interesting now..

They sold their mine and equipment to a local junkman for a few hundred dollars.  Now, for years this junkman had been looking for an opportunity to break into the mining industry. He had studied mining for over a decade and had always believed that it was his destiny.  This junkman hired a mining engineer to inspect the claim and together they discovered what is known as a fault line. He explained that gold ran in long veins and that the previous owners had simply drilled through one side of the vein and come out the other. The engineer explained that if the junkman were to go back and dig in the other direction perpendicular to the old location, he would most likely tap back into the treasure.  Sure enough he hit one of the largest pockets of ore uncovered – a mere few inches away from where the Darbys had quit mining.

This junkman succeeded with millions of dollars of gold, where Darby failed because of  2 things – his determination to fulfill his life’s purpose of becoming a gold miner and, of course, his willingness to seek expert advice.

Giving up too soon, or quitting will always cost you a fortune.

Before great success comes, you will surely meet with temporary defeat.

Control Your Mind : Why & How?

Control your mind because it’s your greatest asset and can produce more wealth than you know what to do with.

And once you learn to think, you must learn to think right and control your mind. There is a difference. Some people just repeat what someone else said that sounded good to them, and say it so often that they start to believe they thought of it.

Controlling your mind is a discipline that is learned. It does not come naturally.

Our mind is constantly thinking about stuff, they wonder naturally.  But I want you to control your mind.

You become what you think about all the time. Your mind can make you Billions of Dollars or ruin you financially and in every other way. So its of paramount importance that you learn how to control your mind with good positive thoughts all the time.

I have received some brilliant ideas during this time of silence, reflection and meditation. It will cost you a lot of money if you do not learn how to control your mind.

Control your mind in a place where you can think best !

Where are you able to block out the commotion of life and just meditate? You must find a location or scenery that enables you to enter into silence. Learn to control your mind while you are in this place to bring the ideas to build your success and accomplish your goals.

This has been my secret to success and staying focused on my dream.  The only reason men fail is broken focus. Most people can’t stay focused because they cannot control their mind.  Its not what you know, its what you think and how you think that makes you a success. You shouldn’t take your Dreams to heaven with you, and you sure shouldn’t die with all your dreams still in you.

You think about 40 to 50,000 thoughts per day. The vast majority of what you tell yourself is negative self-talk. That’s not the way to live. In fact, it’s a sure way to die.  When your dream becomes your focus, you will be unstoppable. When God gives you a dream, it will be one that you can’t achieve the way you are now. You will have to become the person you need to be in order to achieve it.

You can’t afford to think, “I can’t afford this”, or that it won’t work for you. You can’t afford to doubt your ability to succeed in business, family and in life. If you don’t control your mind then you are a puppet because someone else is thinking for you and they are controlling what you can or cannot think.  Learn to think, learn to control your own mind, that’s the only thing that will guarantee your success.

Omega-3 ?  What is Omega-3 ? 

. . and why is it so talked about ?

Research from Queen Mary, University of London suggests that omega-3 fatty acids, which are found in fish oil, have the potential to protect nerves from injury and help them to regenerate. When nerves are damaged because of an accident or injury, patients experience pain, weakness and muscle paralysis which can leave them disabled, and recovery rates are poor.

The new study, published this week in the Journal of Neuroscience, suggests that omega-3 fatty acids could play a significant role in speeding recovery from nerve injury. The study focused on peripheral nerve cells. Peripheral nerves are the nerves which transmit signals between the brain and spinal cord, and the rest of the body.

These nerves have the ability to regenerate but, despite advances in surgical techniques, patients usually only have good recovery when their injury is minor.

Omega-3 fatty acids are vital for the body’s normal growth and development and have been widely researched for their health benefits. Because the body cannot manufacture omega-3 fatty acids, they have to be consumed in foods such as oily fish.

In the new study, researchers first looked at isolated mouse nerve cells. They simulated the type of damage caused by accident or injury, by either stretching the cells or starving them of oxygen. Both types of damage killed a significant number of nerve cells but enrichment with omega-3 fatty acids in cells gave them significant protection and decreased cell death.

The research was carried out by a group led by Adina Michael-Titus, Professor of Neuroscience at Barts and The London Medical School and lead of the Neurotrauma and Neurodegeneration group in the Centre for Neuroscience and Trauma, Queen Mary, University of London.

She explained: “Our previous research has shown that these fatty acids could have beneficial effects in a number of neurological conditions. This new study suggests that they could also have a role in treating peripheral nerve injuries. More work is needed but our research indicates that omega-3 fatty acids can protect damaged nerve cells, which is a critical first step in a successful neurological recovery.

EPA, DHA and ALA:

EPA and DHA are two of the most important omega-3 fatty acids. And both EPA and DHA are key nutrients, which means that your body needs them for normal function but cannot produce them very effiicently. The best way to get these nutrients is to increase your fish consumption or take omega-3 supplements.
Omega-3 fatty acids are the building blocks of every living cell in the human body. They are absolutely necessary for normal health and development. Without them, cells can’t function, renew, or maintain themselves properly.
Omega 3s promote cardiovascular health, support a healthy memory and learning, help brain and vision development of infants, and promote natural joint flexibility and mobility.

DHA research

Your ability to think, learn, and remember can be influenced by the amount of DHA in your cells. Increased DHA fuels production of serotonin, the “feel-good” neurotransmitter, and can help support normal brain function.
During pregnancy, DHA plays a key role in the normal development of the baby’s brain and eyes. Breast milk also contains DHA, which is believed to be a factor associated with infant brain development.
Scientific studies have also found that low levels of DHA have been associated with reduced brain function and are linked to a number of mood problems.

EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid)

EPA helps in the synthesis of hormone-like substances called prostaglandins, with benefits for cardiovascular and joint health.
Supportive but not conclusive research shows that consumption of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.
EPA also plays a role in supporting the natural movement of joints.
Your body uses omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals to form the outer walls of every cell. This healthy cell structure helps maintain normal
metabolic functions. And since your body cannot produce EPA or synthesize it from food, you need to add it to your diet or take EPA supplements.

ALA (Alpha-linolenic acid)

ALA is a short chain fatty acid. It is found in small amounts in animal flesh, in very small amounts in a variety of plant products, and in relatively large amounts in soy, walnuts, canola oil, flaxseeds and their oils, hempseed oil, camelina oil, and chia seed oil. The human body cannot make its own ALA – it must be obtained through diet.
ALA omega 3s are good for your cells and your skin. Your body also converts ALA to small amounts of EPA, another omega 3 that supports cardio-vascular health.

Is the source of the omega-3 fatty acids used in WELLSON Brain Health Omega safe and sustainable?

Pareto 80 20 Principle:

Pareto 80 20 or the 80/20 Rule is one of the most helpful of all concepts of time and life management. It is also called the “Pareto 80 20 Principle” after its founder, the Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto, who first wrote about it in 1895. Pareto noticed that people in his society seemed to divide naturally into what he called the “vital few”, the top 20 percent in terms of money and influence, and the “trivial many”, at the bottom 80 percent. Pareto created a mathematical formula to describe the unequal distribution of wealth in his country, observing that twenty percent of the people owned eighty percent of the wealth. In the late 1940s, Dr. Joseph M. Juran inaccurately attributed the 80/20 Rule to Pareto, calling it Pareto 80 20 Principle. While it may be misnamed, Pareto 80 20 Principle or Pareto 80 20 Law as it is sometimes called, can be a very effective tool to help you manage effectively.

Where It Came From

After Pareto made his observation and created his formula, many others observed similar phenomena in their own areas of expertise. Quality Management pioneer, Dr. Joseph Juran, working in the US in the 1930s and 40s recognized a universal principle he called the “vital few and trivial many” and reduced it to writing. In an early work, a lack of precision on Juran’s part made it appear that he was applying Pareto’s observations about economics to a broader body of work. The name Pareto 80 20 Principle stuck, probably because it sounded better than Juran’s Principle.

As a result, Dr. Juran’s observation of the “vital few and trivial many”, the principle that 20 percent of something always are responsible for 80 percent of the results, became known as Pareto 80 20 Principle or the 80/20 Rule.

He later discovered that virtually all economic activity was subject to this principle as well. For example, Pareto 80 20 principle says that 20 percent of your activities will account for 80 percent of your results, 20 percent of your customers will account for 80 percent of your sales, 20 percent of your products or services will account for 80 percent of your profits, 20 percent of your tasks will account for 80 percent of the value of what you do, and so on. This means that if you have a list of ten items to do, two of those items will turn out to be worth five or ten times or more than the other eight items put together.

You can apply the Pareto 80 20 rule to almost anything, from the science of management to the physical world.

You know 20 percent of your stock takes up 80 percent of your warehouse space and that 80 percent of your stock comes from 20 percent of your suppliers. Also 80 percent of your sales will come from 20percent of your sales staff. 20 percent of your staff will cause 80 percent of your problems, but another 20 percent of your staff will provide 80 percent of your production. It works both ways.  When marketing on social media platforms, always keep in mind the Pareto 80 20 rule. You should spend 80% of your time sharing, answering questions and interacting with others and only 20% of your time promoting your small business. Stick to this rule and you’ll be seen as a true participant, not a pushy sales-person.

Number of Tasks versus Importance of Tasks

Here is an interesting discovery. Each of the ten tasks may take the same amount of time to accomplish. But one or two of those tasks will contribute five or ten times the value of any of the others.

Often, one item on a list of ten tasks that you have to do can be worth more than all the other nine items put together. This task is invariably the frog that you should eat first.

Focus on Activities, Not Accomplishments

The most valuable tasks you can do each day are often the hardest and most complex. But the payoff and rewards for completing these tasks efficiently can be tremendous. For this reason, you must adamantly refuse to work on tasks in the bottom 80 percent while you still have tasks in the top 20 percent left to be done, according to Pareto 80 20 principle.

Before you begin work, always ask yourself, “Is this task in the top 20 percent of my activities or in the bottom 80 percent?”

The hardest part of any important task is getting started on it in the first place. Once you actually begin work on a valuable task, you will be naturally motivated to continue. A part of your mind loves to be busy working on significant tasks that can really make a difference. Your job is to feed this part of your mind continually.

Motivate Yourself

Just thinking about starting and finishing an important task motivates you and helps you to overcome procrastination. Time management is really life management, personal management. It is really taking control of the sequence of events. Time management is having control over what you do next. And you are always free to choose the task that you will do next. Your ability to choose between the important and the unimportant is the key determinant of your success in life and work.

Effective, productive people discipline themselves to start on their most important task at hand. They force themselves to eat that frog, whatever it is. As a result, they accomplish vastly more than the average person and are much happier as a result. This should be your way of working as well. This is an example of putting Pareto 80 20 principle to work!
